Staying Strong Amidst the Pandemic

Coming Out Stronger
First of all, we hope you all are staying safe during this pandemic. COVID-19 hit close to home for us. We’ve experienced our parents getting sick with the virus and it was so hard to see them struggle through it. Because of this, it has brought our relationships closer together including colleagues, close friends, and our family.
Crises open up opportunities. We are grateful to still have jobs so we can continue to build this brand. Jay Victoria is getting closer to existence with all the help from the local community. It’s in times like these, human contact and interaction is so important. We haven’t kept you all updated on what’s going on. This is our fault and there is no excuse for that.
I guess in some way we both were going through personal development. We felt like we weren’t good enough to write, or if anything, know what to write about. Our inner negative self-talk got the best of us. Enough of this. It’s been so hard to change this mindset and it took many months to change our bad habit of negative self-talk. Of course, humans are not perfect. There are times we fall back into our bad habits.
A Tip to Change Negative Self-Talk
Here’s a tip we learned from our wise spiritual healer about negative self-talk.
Remember the three A’s.
This is what change is. We’ve been learning a habit of negative self-talk for most of our lives, so don’t be too harsh on yourself. Change doesn't happen overnight. Change happens with practice. Acceptance does not mean approval. Acceptance means “to find rest in” and without judgment. We have been conditioned to think this way through our moms, parents, aunts, uncles, and the people we grew up with. Be easy on yourself.
This Brand is About Acceptance
Our act is through kindness, courage, and activism. We live in a world where you are often valued based on appearance. Discrimination about size is common and teasing and bullying about size and shape are too often tolerated. Jay Victoria will be a part of the systematic change and less body shame.
