Since our last blog/email a little over one week ago, a lot has happened! We've been gearing up for our next event, shooting the Tree of Life video with our first co-creator, Megan Miller, staying up till 4:00am to complete the finishing touches on our Crowdfunch Launch, oh and not to mention, no more sushi dates.
This Next Event is Dear To Our Heart
Our next event is Twin Cities Pride on June 22-23, 2019. TC Pride provided us the opportunity to start our clothing line. We truly are grateful and thank our hearts out to them! Without such a warm and welcoming environment, who knows where we would have started!
It has been a whirlwind finalizing everything for Twin Cities Pride this year. We finally placed our order for our #Pride tee shirts last week and they were a HOT MESS. We had to go back to the manufacturer to have majority of the shirts re-printed. This all happened the week of crowdfunding campaign. Here's one thing we learned. Plans don't always work out. Account for that time, trust business partners that they will make it right, but always have a back-up plan.
Tree of Life Video
We have been finishing up our first co-creation interview/video for ’The Tree of Life’ button up shirt. This shirts co-creator is Megan Miller from Apple Valley, MN. We are so excited about this co-creation line and to get these stories out into the world so other humans going through similar situations know that they are not alone! Back to Ramen and Peanut Butter & Jelly
We have been working on our first button up shirt for almost a year now, and we have gotten down to the nitty-gritty. We have put all of our own, personal money into launching Jay Victoria. We have went from eating Sushi at least once a week to staying home and eating ramen and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (which I still love). It is coming down to the wire.. and now we need and we are asking for your help!!
That All Too Familiar Shame Voice
Getting everything ready to launch our crowdfunding campaign today has been an emotional roller-coaster! We are so excited to start this journey and our goal is to help humans feel better about themselves but sometimes that shame and scary side comes creeping in saying, "who do you think you are starting a clothing line? You aren't special!" or saying things like "no one cares what you are doing and no one is going to support it, you might as well just give up now and save the embarrassment".... and sometimes we have believed that shame voice.
Most times we tell that voice to take a seat! Even if we only help a small amount of humans, it is all worth it!
Crowdfund Launch
Our campaign is officially launched today, June 14, 2019 on iFundWomen.com where you’ll find the option to pre-order our first co-creation product, the ‘Tree of Life’ shirt designed by Megan Miller from Apple Valley, MN. (Other rewards include exclusive artwork, creative portraiture services by one of our amazing photographers, Jay Victoria letterman jacket, and the option to have Jay Victoria create a 30-minute custom presentation or speak about our inspirational journey to your audience. Plus, we will publish your name, brand, or company on our website and social media platforms for a minimum of 3 months.)
Please give us your support and help us reach our goal of raising $21,000 to be able to get Jay Victoria up and running and get our button up shirts out into the world so we can help everyday humans.
